On Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 the Missouri City Councilmembers unanimously approved the hiring of Fire & Rescue Services Chief Eugene Campbell, Jr. He holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Work Force Education from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Additionally, he holds an Associate of Art degree in Fire Service Management and an Associates of Art degree in Criminal Justice from the Community College of Southern Nevada (CCSN), Las Vegas.
He also has attained the certifications to include Head of Department certification from the Texas Fire Commission, Executive Fire Officer (EFO) from the Department of Homeland Security-National Fire Academy and Chief Fire Officer Designation (CFOD) from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. In addition, he has completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Naval Post Graduate School, the Leadership program for Executives at the Kennedy School of Government, at Harvard University and the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service and the LEAD program at the University of Virginia.
Chief Campbell professional memberships include the Texas Fire Chiefs Association, Fort Bend County Fire Chiefs Association and the International Association of Fire Chiefs were he has served on the Homeland Security Committee and the Education and Development committee.
Chief Campbell is married to wife Debra, they have two adult sons. Together they enjoy church, family trips, being involved as community volunteers and living an active lifestyle.
